A little clarity before you begin.

What exactly do I get?

A persistent Linux computer prepared for Codex and Claude. We provision the machine, maintain the connection path, guide SSH and project setup, and automatically forward common development ports to private previews on your laptop. You still own your code, tools, and access.

Why not Codespaces, Gitpod, DevPod, or a VPS?

Just computer is for people who want Codex or Claude on one persistent remote machine without operating the server plumbing. Codespaces and similar tools are often editor- or project-centered; a raw VPS offers more control for less money but leaves provisioning, access, tooling, port forwarding, and recovery to you. If you enjoy maintaining that stack, a VPS may suit you better.

How do I connect?

Run one guided setup command to configure SSH and add the computer to Codex and Claude on macOS or Linux. Manual SSH configuration is always available. When a web app starts on a common development port, its private preview can open locally on your laptop.

Does my laptop need to stay open?

No. Files and remote processes live on the computer, so closing your laptop does not shut them down. An agent session still needs to be configured to continue after disconnecting, and a machine reboot or crash can interrupt running work.

Are Codex and Claude included in the price?

No. The displayed price covers the computer only. Your Codex, Claude, ChatGPT, model usage, GitHub, and other software costs are separate.

Which computer should I choose?

Start with Standard for smaller projects. Plus and Pro illustrate options with more CPU, memory, and storage. You can compare all three above.

Can I export my files?

Yes. My computer provides a command that downloads your home folder directly to your laptop over SSH as a compressed archive. It does not pass through our website. Export important work before canceling; access continues until the end of the paid period, after which recovery is limited and operator-assisted.

Do you offer GPUs?

Not yet. The current computers are CPU workspaces for coding agents and everyday development. GPU-backed computers are planned for a future release.

Are the disks encrypted?

Your connection is encrypted with SSH, but the workspace disk is not currently encrypted with a key only you control. The service is not end-to-end encrypted from authorized operators or our infrastructure provider, who may be technically able to access content for provisioning, security, support, recovery, or legal compliance. Keep independent backups and do not store data here if that access model is unsuitable.
